Millions
Um welcome to my first movie review, fot this new blog of mine. The first movie of the rank is a movie called Millions. It is based on a childrens novel about two boys who find a bag full of money, then they struggle against each other trying to figure what to do with the money, seeing as they only have one week before the money worthless in the change over to the Euro. One wants to spend up big and the other wants to use the money to help the masses.
So from the look of it you might think " Who would be bothered going to see this movie?" or "Why is a 22 year old going to see a kids movie?". Well both are very good questions! Everyone should go see this movie, from 8 to 80. The story for this movie is very strong with no real points where you have to wonder what the hell is going on, unlike some movies *cough* Land of the Dead *cough*. The strong story is backed up well by some really really good performances. The best is from the main character, the young Alexander Nathan Etel as Damian. He has great timing in some of the fun bits and you really feel for him in some of the sad bits. One of the best is when he is standing in the cosmetic section of a store waiting for his Dad's (James Nesbitt) girlfriend (Daisy Donovan). The whole movie just sparkled, this is a big family DVD movie.
One of the reasons i was so excited about seeing this movie was because of the dirctor Danny Boyle. He is famous for his work on directing Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and also the bomb that was The Beach. So i was very interested to see what he could do with a childrens story. I think he did a great job on this movie, i also like the parts where there was a need for a little darkness and scariness and he didnt back off but also didnt take it to far. I am very glad that my first new film review is a big BIG-
THUMBS UP!
